Privacy Policy
CubeScene Geo (app.cubescene.geo) · Last updated 11 October 2026CubeScene Geo is a geography game. This page explains what information the game uses and why. We do not sell your data.
What we collect
- An anonymous player ID. When you first play, the game creates an anonymous account with Google Firebase so it can keep leaderboard entries. It contains no name or email.
- Your name and email, only if you sign in. If you choose "Save your Earth" and sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email address of that account so your progress can be saved to it and restored on another device.
- Your game progress, only if you sign in. Your discoveries, Stardust and settings are saved to your account in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore).
- Leaderboard entries. Arcade scores are stored with your explorer name and your alien's look.
- Advertising. The app shows ads from Google AdMob: ones you choose to watch for a reward, and a few between games. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID and your general location to choose and measure ads. Where the law asks for it (for example in the EU and the UK), the app asks for your consent first, and you can change it in Settings under "Ad privacy choices". You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. Ads are limited to content suitable for general audiences with parental guidance (PG).
- Crash reports. If the app crashes or hits an error, Google Firebase Crashlytics sends us a technical report (what failed, your phone model and system version, and the last game step, such as "expedition 12 done"), linked to an anonymous installation ID, so we can fix it.
- Voice answers, only if you use them. If you tap the microphone to say an answer, your phone's own speech recognition (Google on Android, Apple on iPhone, or your browser's on the website) turns the words into text, and the game checks that text like a typed answer. The game asks for the microphone only when you first tap it. We do not record, receive or keep the audio.
- Game events (analytics). We use Google Firebase Analytics to see how the game is played (for example, which expeditions are finished and where players get stuck), so we can improve it. These events are linked to the anonymous player ID, not to your name. On the website, visitors in the EU and the UK are asked first: until you say OK, Google Analytics keeps nothing on your device and counts only anonymous, unlinked visits; you can change your answer in Settings under "Analytics choices".
What stays on your device
Your progress, settings and explorer name are also kept on your device. Daily reminders, if you turn them on, are scheduled on your device; we do not send them from a server.
Who we share it with
Google Firebase, which stores and processes the data above on our behalf, and Google AdMob, which shows the ads (see how Google uses data in ads). We do not share or sell your data to anyone else.
Children
CubeScene Geo is made for families and adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Deleting your data
You can sign out at any time in the game. To delete your account and the Earth saved to it, open Settings → Save your Earth → Delete account in the game (in the app or on the website), and tap again to confirm: it is deleted at once. You can also email us at the address below from the account's email, and we will delete it within 30 days. Uninstalling the game removes the data stored on your device.
Security
All data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored by Google Firebase.
